F3 returns for the second round of the season in Bahrain. After FP1, it’s already time for qualifying, with Camara clearly ahead of the rest.
F3 kicks off again in Bahrain with qualifying for tomorrow’s Sprint Race at 12:15. Camara had already dominated FP1 ahead of Tsolov and Taponen, securing pole position for this afternoon. Meanwhile, Giusti also showed his strength, placing P5. Follow the qualifying session live with us from 14:55.

Rafael Câmara and his TRIDENT team pick up right where they left off in Melbourne, setting the fastest time in the free practice session in Sakhir with a 1:50.984, earning him first place. The Brazilian driver beat Nikola Tsolov’s initial benchmark by 127 thousandths, finishing the session ahead of the Campos Racing driver. Third place went to Tuukka Taponen, a rookie with ART Grand Prix.
At the start, Ivan Domingues from Van Amersfoort Racing was the only one on track, while the other drivers waited in the pits. The Portuguese driver completed the session’s first flying lap with a time of 1:52.776.

Track activity picked up with about 15 minutes remaining, as all 30 cars returned to the circuit for their fast laps. In the first push lap phase, it was Tsolov who took the lead with a 1:51.111, followed by Rodin Motorsport rookie Roman Bilinski, trailing by 312 thousandths. But the Bulgarian’s time was later beaten by Câmara, who stopped the clock at 1:50.984, taking the top spot.

Debutant Taponen secured third for ART, over two tenths off the top, while Santiago Ramos from Van Amersfoort Racing climbed to fourth. Until the checkered flag, drivers continued to improve their lap times. Alessandro Giusti of MP Motorsport finished in fifth place, ahead of Charlie Wurz (TRIDENT) and Bilinski. MP Motorsport placed three cars in the top 10, with Tim Tramnitz and Bruno del Pino finishing eighth and ninth, respectively. Ugo Ugochukwu of PREMA Racing closed out the top 10.
The drivers will be back on track this afternoon for qualifying, scheduled for 16:00 local time at the Bahrain
