After announcing his departure from Haas at the end of the 2026 season, the French driver must find a new opportunity to continue his career in the sport. His goal, however, is clear: <strong>Ocon wants to be on the grid in 2027.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_396007\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-396007\" style=\"width: 1290px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-396007\" src=\"https:\/\/f1ingenerale.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/Esteban-Ocon-DSC01781.webp\" alt=\"Esteban Ocon driving at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix\" width=\"1300\" height=\"867\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-396007\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Copyright Antonio Spina<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em><strong>\u201cMy goal is Formula 1.<\/strong> It\u2019s clear: that is where I feel I belong, and where I want to be. Therefore, I won\u2019t be looking elsewhere, that\u2019s for sure,\u201d<\/em> Ocon explained on Thursday at Sepang, where he was meeting with the F1inGenerale team. His words confirm he is already working to find a solution for the next season.<\/p>\n<h3>Working hard to secure a seat<\/h3>\n<p>The driver market could represent the path Ocon will take to stay in Formula 1. He declined to name potential teams, instead focusing on his performance on track and keeping all possibilities open. <em><strong>\u201cI am still working to find a solution for next year.<\/strong> You will be informed as soon as there are updates, but for now, that is my priority along with doing well on track,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ocon, recent race results are the best way to prove he deserves another opportunity in the sport. He also emphasized the importance of having a competitive car, recalling Haas\u2019s struggles in recent seasons. <em>\u201cFor me, the best way to show I still deserve a spot in F1 is through results. However, I need a competitive car, which we lacked for many races, including last year,\u201d<\/em> he noted.<\/p>\n<h3>Ocon\u2019s F1 future remains open<\/h3>\n<p>Ocon refuses to consider his Formula 1 career over. Performances in Baku and Madrid, where the car allowed stronger showings, reinforce his belief that with the right package, he can still prove his worth. <em>\u201cIf we have a competitive car, things should work out like in Baku or Madrid. We\u2019ll see,\u201d<\/em> he added, while avoiding commitment about his next career move: <em>\u201cI won\u2019t say where I will end up. I\u2019m continuing to work with the team and aiming to perform well before evaluating options later in the year.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>His motivation remains strong. <strong><em>\u201cThere is still hope, and that hope is what keeps me focused,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Ocon said, reflecting on how he has earned every opportunity. <em>\u201cIn Formula 1, I have always had to fight hard for everything I\u2019ve achieved; nothing has ever been given to me,\u201d<\/em> he stressed. His message about the future is clear: <em>\u201cI want to be on the starting grid next year, that\u2019s for sure.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For Ocon, looking forward is key. <em>\u201c<strong>There are always opportunities in Formula 1, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m focusing on: the future, not the past.\u201d<\/strong><\/em> His F1 future is still unwritten.
