Too many trophies for Verstappen: Red Bull doesn’t even know where to place them!
Red Bull does have a “problem” with Max Verstappen: the Dutch driver is basically winning every race and goes on gaining a lot of trophies. Now, the team doesn’t even know where to place them!
In Christian Horner’s words there’s irony, but also a lot of satisfaction. He’s “complaining” about his driver’s performance, however at the same time, he’s enjoying the victories. Red Bull is one step away from winning the World Constructors’ Championship, while Verstappen is about to conquer his third world title.
Horner revealed he’s ordered a new cabinet where to place the last trophies won, because there’s no more room in the old one. Red Bull’s team principal is well known for being very superstitious, as much to have refused till the very last to buy a new cabinet. He wanted to fill the maximum number of trophies in that one displayed at Red Bull’s Milton Keynes HQ.
The “problem” comes when the space is not longer available. Red Bull has won 36 out of 42 trophies so far. They need to buy a new cabinet.
Chris Horner’s big problem
Horner, playfully speaking to the media, including RacingNews 365, said: “It’s a nice problem to have. I’m superstitious, I don’t like empty cabinets. We’ve already ordered another cabinet, and we’ve already filled it. We’ll deal with that at the end of the year.”
Back to be serious, Horner said he was satisfied with the team’s achievements so far and he’s aware that they are writing the history of Formula 1.
“It is not often you get the chance to do that. I think as a team, we went through the early, building years to get where we did in 2010 to 2013, with Sebastian Vettel. We hit some fairly lofty highs. Then we had seven tough years where we never lost focus of what our goal and objective was”, he continued, concluding that Red Bull is finally reaping the rewards of their hard work.
